A career soldier and civil servant, the Reverend Douglas Deffenbaugh's extensive academic and professional credentials and experiences include certificates from various military (US) and governmental (US) agencies as well as other bodies accumulated over his twenty-three years of government service.

Internationally recognized for achievement and service, his personal awards include the US Army Commendation Medal (two awards), the US Army Good Conduct Medal (two awards) as well as the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with battle star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Reserve Forces Service Medal with “M” Device for deployment, and the Combat Action Badge.

Father Deffenbaugh enjoys family time, music, reading as well as genealogy and chivalry related to his Germanic noble heritage. An avid outdoorsman and adventurer, his recreational activities are often spent in spiritual reflection with God in the natural

settings of his family's arboreal estate. Fr. Deffenbaugh trained for the simplex priesthood in the Metropolitan See and serves as Chancellor of the Metropolitan Curia. He is married the Major Wanda Deffenbaugh, ORSS(T), Director of Continuing Education for the Archdiocese.
